High-pressure diffraction studies of molecular organic solids. A personal view.
This paper discusses the trends in the experimental studies of molecular organic solids at high pressures by diffraction techniques. Crystallization of liquids, crystallization from solutions and solid-state transformations are considered. Special attention is paid to the high-pressure studies of pharmaceuticals and of biomimetics.
متن کاملEpitaxial growth of molecular crystals on van der waals substrates for high-performance organic electronics.
Epitaxial van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures of organic and layered materials are demonstrated to create high-performance organic electronic devices. High-quality rubrene films with large single-crystalline domains are grown on h-BN dielectric layers via vdW epitaxy. In addition, high carrier mobility comparable to free-standing single-crystal counterparts is achieved by forming interfacial e...
متن کاملModelling temperature-dependent properties of polymorphic organic molecular crystals
We present a large-scale study of the temperature-dependence of structures, free energy differences and properties of polymorphic molecular organic crystals. Lattice-vibrational Gibbs free energy differences between 475 pairs of polymorphs of organic molecular crystals have been calculated at 0 K and at their respective melting points, using a highly accurate anisotropic multipole-based force f...
متن کاملFemtosecond optical spectroscopy studies of high- pressure-grown (Al,Ga)N single crystals
We present our time-resolved studies of the carrier dynamics in high quality Al0.86Ga0.14N single crystals, grown using a solution technique in a high nitrogen gas pressure autoclave. Our optical measurements were performed using a femtosecond, pump-probe spectroscopy, by invoking the two-photon-absorption-type process and scanning the normalized transient differential transmissivity signal (T...
